About Us

What’s the Story?

Housed in a 110-year-old neoclassical church in the heart of Adams Morgan — one of Washington, D.C.’s most eclectic, non-stop neighborhoods — the LINE DC offers a singular way to experience the nation’s capital.

A Historic Church Becomes D.C.’s Boldest Hotel

People often say that DC is not a city or a state; it’s a state of mind. The LINE DC celebrates the local minds that make Washington what it is.

The hotel brings the LINE brand’s signature design-forward, community-centric philosophy to an unforgettable space — a historic church with a flair for the dramatic, including a jaw-dropping vaulted mezzanine, stained glass windows, and light fixtures crafted from the original church organ. 220 modern guest rooms overlook The District’s monuments and historic architecture, while the LINE DC’s event spaces host the city’s most talked about weddings and galas. The hotel also features an art collection by local artists, a landscaped rooftop with panoramic city views, and an all-day-restaurant-and-bar where there’s always someone to see and someone to meet.

At the Intersection of Culture and Community

Each LINE concept seeks to connect travelers to culturally rich neighborhoods and meaningful communities. Our Washington, DC hotel is no different.

The White House, Lincoln Memorial, and Potomac are only a few minutes from the hotel, but it’s the neighborhood right outside the lobby where you’ll find the soul of the city. Step down the LINE’s stunning front steps to spend the day in Adams Morgan, a one-of-a-kind DC neighborhood that feels anything but bureaucratic. Borrow a LINE x Priority bike to traverse block after block of music venues, restaurants, and curated shops owned and operated by a local community with excellent taste.

Back at the hotel, guest rooms feature a color palette inspired by DC’s vibrant hum, restored wood floors, and hand-picked micro-libraries. No Goodbyes, the LINE DC’s bar and dining concept, offers an all-day hot spot where guests and locals gather from morning to midnight. Then there are the hotel’s other community concepts, including a podcast studio serving as the home base for the LINE’s Full Service Radio and its podcast, Hear HERE, and multiple unconventional event spaces for celebrating occasions and weddings in style.

Designing a Hotel Worthy of Its Neighborhood

The LINE DC is located in the Adams Morgan section of Washington, DC, a neighborhood known historically as a counterculture hub that has been experiencing an ongoing culture and community renaissance since the 1970s. Today, Adams Morgan is known as an arts and entertainment district and LGTBQ+ hub. It’s also the place to go when you’re in the mood for live music or a Michelin-starred meal.

Designed in partnership with Inc. Architecture and Design, The LINE DC’s interiors and exteriors nod to the defining moments of the neighborhood — past, present, and future. The hotel’s show-stopping architecture and interiors comes from great, century-old bones. Inside, you’ll find the church’s original vaulted ceilings, original details, and a warm combination of patinaed wood and timeworn leather.

Joining partner properties in LA, SF, and Austin, the LINE DC is part of a hotel group dedicated to a self-assured sense of purpose and place — and the ways in which fully experiencing a city can redefine how we perceive the world. The LINE brand is part of Soho House & Co, Inc.

Dine In & Drink Up

The LINE approaches the art of taste with the same attention to detail as its interior design, architecture, and hospitality. Our DC hotel is distinct from other LINE properties in that it has only one dining space, No Goodbyes, a Mid-Atlantic-inspired eatery that changes concepts depending on the time of day. In the city that steers the nation, conversations are everything. No Goodbyes proves it’s always a good time for a conversation over a meal  — or martini.

Morning: Stop into Coffee Shop @ No Goodbyes for a pastry or full breakfast, plus a quick-witted conversation with one of the LINE’s talented baristas.

Noon: Weekday lunch is always a treat, with an all-day menu that taps the farmers, fishers, and small-time ranchers in DC’s own backyard. Then, there’s No Goodbyes’ weekend brunch, which stacks the tables with locals and guests in need of buttermilk pancakes, fried chicken, and No Goodbye’s creative spins on hair-of-the-dog.

Night: End the night in style with a last round amongst friends at No Goodbyes Bar. The menu includes the signature Togetherness cocktail, which generously serves four.

Or stay in your robe. No Goodbyes also offers in-room delivery — the LINE DC’s elevated riff on standard room service.

THE LINE Philosophy: Neighborhood is Community.

While each LINE property differs in design, all are united in approach. We seek to complement each neighborhood’s unique history and architecture, connect guests to culturally rich experiences, and establish meaningful communities within our spaces. Emerging chefs, talented bartenders, world-class designers, local creatives, and tasteful travelers flow through our spaces, bringing the neighborhood outside into the LINE and the LINE into the community.
